Kellie Lewis

Kellie is the Head of the Whiteville Branch for the NC Museum of Natural Sciences at Whiteville. Lewis graduated with a bachelor’s degree in marine biology from UNC-Wilmington. She began her exciting career at the Skidaway Institute of Oceanography in Savannah, Georgia doing research on copepods, tiny zooplankton. She moved home to Whiteville, NC in 2007 as Director of Education at the NC Museum of Forestry before it became the NC Museum of Natural Sciences at Whiteville. She has served in several capacities for the NC Association of Environmental Education Centers since 2014. Lewis has been Head of the Whiteville Branch since 2023. She loves to travel, kayak and SCUBA dive and lives with 4 turtles and her fur kid, Nellie.
