Navigating the Murky Waters of Crayfish Conservation

-
Nature Research Center, 121 W. Jones Street, Raleigh, NC 27603

Native is good, invasive is bad, right? This seems to be a straightforward concept of biological conservation. But what happens when we are naive to the distinction between native and invasive? Alternatively, what if invasive species becomes an integral component of an at-risk ecosystem? Join us for a discussion about how we are working through this fuzzy grey area of conservation with crayfishes, our charismatic freshwater invertebrate megafauna.
