NC EE Community Outreach Meeting
May 5, 2008
NC National Estuarine Research Reserve

Please join us for an Environmental Education Community Outreach meeting at the NC National Estuarine Research Reserve on Monday, May 5, 2008,
10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

The North Carolina Coastal Reserve, in partnership with NOAA's Center for Coastal Fisheries and Habitat Research, recently moved into their new joint facility on Pivers Island in Beaufort.  This facility houses the Reserve headquarters and provides space for workshops and a dedicated classroom for teacher and student activities.  The Rachel Carson component of the North Carolina National Estuarine Research Reserve is just a short boat-ride away.

Meeting Information:
Sign-in begins at 10:00 a.m. and the meeting will begin promptly at 10:15 a.m. We will enjoy a networking lunch at 11:30. Bountiful Bagel will be catering our lunch. If you would like to join us for lunch, the cost is $10.00 and it will be collected at registration.
Only cash will be accepted.

We will be taking a tour of the Rachel Carson Reserve after lunch. Please indicate when you register if you are interested in going on the tour. Please remember to dress appropriately for the weather. Wear close-toed shoes that you don't mind getting wet and muddy!

You can register for the meeting online. The deadline for registration and ordering lunch is April 30th.

*Note: If you register for lunch and are unable to attend, please call the office and cancel your lunch order. If you fail to cancel your order, you will be billed for the cost of lunch.

Directions from the North or West: From Morehead City take U.S. Highway 70 East ( Arendell Street).  Cross over the high-rise bridge heading towards Beaufort.  Take the second right on the causeway.  The new facility is the first large white building on the left as you enter Pivers Island.

As usual, attendees are also invited to bring brochures or other educational information to share with the group.

The EE Community Outreach meetings provide an open and informal opportunity to share information and ideas with others with an interest in quality environmental education. Meetings are held throughout the state. Anyone who would like to participate is always welcome. Additional information about the meetings, including information about past and upcoming meetings, can be found at http://www.eenorthcarolina.org/newsandevents.htm

We look forward to seeing you on Monday, May 5 at the NC National Estuarine Research Reserve. Have a safe trip, and consider inviting someone to join you for this educational and enjoyable experience!
