Queen Anne's LaceQueen Anne's Lace

Scientific Name: Daucus carota/Umbelliferae

Not Native

Biennial, Zone 3-9/ 4-5’

Lacy, flat-topped clusters of white flowers appear in early
summer atop 4-5’ stems. Umbels of flowers are good for
cutting, and the “bird’s nest” seed pods are a nice addition to
dried arrangements. The attractive fern-like foliage and white
flowers are wonderful with Purple Coneflowers and provide
food for Black Swallowtail caterpillars. Prefers full sun and
well-drained soil. Although a biennial, Queen Anne’s Lace
naturalizes by reseeding.
